Ces messieurs de la famille is a French comedy directed by Raoul André. Shot in 1967 and released in 1968, the film brings together a large ensemble of familiar faces from French cinema of the era, including Darry Cowl, Michel Galabru, Michel Serrault, Michel Charrel, Jean Poiret, Jean Yanne, Francis Blanche, Annie Cordy and Eddie Constantine. Running about 86 minutes, it belongs to the popular light-comedy tradition in which André specialized. The picture proved successful enough to be followed by a sequel, Ces messieurs de la gâchette (1970), which reunited essentially the same cast. Today it stands as a representative example of the ensemble farces that entertained French audiences in the late 1960s.
