Black Sunday
Black Sunday is a 1977 American action thriller directed by John Frankenheimer and adapted from Thomas Harris's novel of the same name, published two years earlier. Produced by Robert Evans for Paramount Pictures, the film was scripted by Ernest Lehman, Kenneth Ross and Ivan Moffat.
The story draws inspiration from the 1972 Munich Olympics attack on Israeli athletes and centers on an armed plot to strike an American football stadium. Robert Shaw, Bruce Dern and Marthe Keller star in the film, which runs 143 minutes. It received an Edgar Allan Poe Award nomination in 1978.
