Once Upon a Time in Cyprus (Bir Zamanlar Kıbrıs)

Once Upon a Time in Cyprus is a historical drama and war series produced by TMC Film as a co-production between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Premiering on TRT 1 on April 1, 2021, the show was renamed Cyprus: Towards Victory in its second season and concluded with its 24th episode on February 4, 2022, after two seasons.

Set in 1960s Cyprus, the series portrays the Turkish Cypriot resistance against the extremist Greek Cypriot organization EOKA-B and the evolution of the Cyprus Problem. It covers the violence and human rights abuses stretching from the Bloody Christmas events to the 1974 Turkish intervention. Written by Emre Özdür and Başar Başaran, the series features Ahmet Kural among its cast.
