Beach House

Beach House (original title: Casotto) is a 1977 Italian comedy directed by Sergio Citti, marking his first full-length feature film. Citti co-wrote the screenplay with Vincenzo Cerami. The story unfolds in and around a seaside beach cabin, where a large group of characters cross paths over the course of a day, their encounters driving the film's comic situations.

The ensemble cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Ugo Tognazzi, Gigi Proietti, Mariangela Melato, Michele Placido, Paolo Stoppa and a young Jodie Foster in one of her early roles. Running 106 minutes, the film stands as an example of the Italian comedy tradition of its era.

The film received renewed attention decades later when it was screened as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
