Apocalypse Revelation (San Giovanni - L'apocalisse)

Apocalypse Revelation is a religious television film made in Italy in 2002, with the original title San Giovanni – L'apocalisse. Produced for European television and carried by Rai 1, it is the final entry in Lux Vide's series of films drawn from the Bible. Raffaele Mertes directed it and wrote the screenplay. The film was made in English and runs about 90 minutes; it is known as Revelation in Australia and Die Bibel – Apokalypse in Germany.

Its subject is John of Patmos, traditionally the author of the Book of Revelation. Exiled to the island of Patmos under Roman rule, he is put to hard labour in the island's mines, and the film portrays those conditions by following the account of Victorinus of Pettau. Scenes from John's visions are woven together with events facing the early Christian church in Asia.

Richard Harris stars in what was one of his final film roles, with Bruce Payne alongside him. The cast also includes Vittoria Belvedere, Benjamin Sadler, Christian Kohlund, Erol Sander, Luca Ward, Luigi Diberti and Paolo Villaggio.
