Acquitted for Having Committed the Deed (Italian: Assolto per aver commesso il fatto) is a 1992 Italian comedy directed by Alberto Sordi, who also takes the leading role. Angela Finocchiaro and Lou Castel appear alongside him in the cast. Sordi co-wrote the screenplay with Rodolfo Sonego, a longtime collaborator. Production took place on location in both Rome and Los Angeles, with sets created by art director Marco Dentici. Running about 118 minutes, it stands among the final directorial efforts of Sordi's long career in Italian cinema.
