Şebnem Gürsoy Talay — Biography

Şebnem Gürsoy Talay was born on June 26, 1964, in Ankara. After finishing high school she joined the Ankara Art Theatre and enrolled the same year in the Sociology Department at Hacettepe University, though she left her studies unfinished after marrying actor Altan Erkekli in 1987. She also worked for a period at TRT, Turkey's state broadcaster.

She began her acting career with the 1986 film Suçumuz İnsan Olmak and went on to appear in numerous series including Sıdıka, Dostlar Pasajı, Şifre, Hisarbuselik, Bizim Evin Halleri, Melekler Korusun, Kalp Ağrısı, Unutma Beni, Hayat Devam Ediyor, Ankara'nın Dikmeni and Kocamın Ailesi, alongside stage work and voice-over projects.

She and Altan Erkekli had a son, Efe Erkekli, before the marriage ended in 1991. Gürsoy Talay also appeared in the 2018 productions Beni Bırakma and Çocuklar Sana Emanet, and remains widely recognized for playing Firdevs in the series Beni Affet.
