Sabri Kaliç — Biography
Sabri Kaliç was a Turkish film director, writer and translator, born on 19 May 1966 in Izmir and died in the same city on 23 September 2012. After completing a film directing degree at Dokuz Eylül University, he moved to Istanbul in 1992 and spent a period working as an assistant to director Sinan Çetin.
He made his directing debut in 1995 with the television film Midnight Hitchhiker and became known for a distinctive body of experimental film and video work. Alongside his filmmaking, he was also active as a translator, rendering screenplays such as Trainspotting into Turkish.
