Okan Bayülgen — Biography

Born Kaan Okan Görgün in Istanbul on 23 March 1964, Okan Bayülgen is a versatile Turkish artist working as an actor, television and radio host, theater director, producer, dubbing performer and photographer. He attended Galatasaray High School before studying at Mimar Sinan University's State Conservatory.

He rose to fame from the early 1990s onward, hosting late-night talk and variety programs as private radio and television broadcasting took off in Turkey. On screen, he appeared in films such as Ağır Roman (1997), İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında (1996), Komser Şekspir (2001), Hemşo (2000), Gülüm (2003), Sınav (2006), Romantik (2007) and Kanal-İ-zasyon (2009), as well as the series Utanmaz Adam (1998).

In 2026, Bayülgen has continued to perform on stage in Turkey and Cyprus in the play "Devlerin Savaşı" alongside Celal Kadri Kınoğlu, and in recent interviews he has argued that theater must always remain contemporary.
