Muzaffer Tema — Biography

Muzaffer Tema (15 June 1919, Istanbul – 4 October 2011, Çeşme) was a Turkish film actor, director, screenwriter and producer. Trained at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, he made his screen debut in 1949 with Çığlık and went on to appear in numerous films over a career spanning more than three decades.

His filmography, stretching from the 1950s to the 1980s, includes Kanun Namına (1952), Hıçkırık (1953), Özleyiş (1961), Canım Sana Feda (1965), Kilink İstanbul'da (1967), Yılmayan Şeytan (1972) and Vazife Uğruna (1986). A familiar character actor of the Yeşilçam era, he appeared in both dramas and adventure films.

Tema lived for a time in the United States, where he chaired the Turkish-American Association in Dallas for two years; he was married to actress Sevinç Tevs. He died at his home in Çeşme, İzmir, on 4 October 2011, at the age of 92.
