Metin Şentürk — Biography

Metin Şentürk was born on May 16, 1966, in the Fatih district of Istanbul. Educated at Istanbul Technical University, he has long been known in Turkey as both a musician and an actor, and is also remembered for his role in the film Kahpe Bizans.

Beyond his artistic career, Şentürk is recognized for his advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities: he has served as president of the World Foundation for People with Disabilities and has taken part in awareness activities alongside organizations such as the Beyazay Association. He has more recently spoken up for disability rights in New York and contributed to a Turkish parliamentary commission examining the problems faced by people with disabilities, and his public remarks on current affairs have at times drawn wide attention.

Having shared candid accounts of his difficult childhood and life story with the press, Şentürk remains a multifaceted public figure known both for his artistic work and his social advocacy.
