Mete Horozoğlu — Biography

Mete Horozoğlu is a Turkish theatre and film actor, born on October 11, 1975, in Ankara to a family of Bosnian descent. He graduated from the Theatre Department of Anadolu University's state conservatory in 2001, worked on stage with Anadolu Tiyatrosu in the early 2000s, and relocated to Istanbul in 2002.

After first appearing on Turkish television in a 2005 series, he gained wider recognition playing Soner Talaşoğlu in Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki, which began in 2010, and later Zülfikar Ağa in Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem. Following a FETÖ-related investigation that was ultimately dropped without prosecution, Horozoğlu left Turkey to settle in the United States, where his changed appearance has periodically drawn media attention in recent years.
