Mert Turak — Biography

Mert Turak is an actor with a theatre background who has built a career balanced between stage and screen. On television he is best known for Naim Tezel in Kızıl Goncalar, and in cinema for the role of Aziz in the Mucize films; he still works in both series and theatre.

After beginning theatre studies in Isparta he moved in 2000 to the Istanbul University State Conservatory, graduated in 2004 and completed a master's in advanced acting at Bahçeşehir University. From 2003 he appeared at the Istanbul City Theatres in plays such as Kantocu, Yaşar Ne Yaşar Ne Yaşamaz, Kabare and Ateşli Sabır, work that brought him Sadri Alışık and Afife theatre awards. His screen career began with Yılan Hikayesi, followed by Avrupa Yakası, Komiser Nevzat, Beni Böyle Sev and, in 2014, Yeşil Deniz. He came to the fore in cinema with Mucize, released in 2015, and Mucize 2: Aşk (2019) followed.

At the end of 2020 he joined the cast of Kuruluş Osman; in 2023 came Kızıl Goncalar and the film Maske: Nezaketle Tebessüm, and in 2024 the film Kum Zambağı. More recently he has performed the play Eşyanın Tabiatı with Aslıhan Malbora and joined the cast of Nizamülmülk Altın Çağ.
