Melis Birkan — Biography
Melis Birkan (born 30 November 1983 in Ankara) is a Turkish film and television actress. She took ballet lessons at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory during her primary and high school years, then completed the modern dance department at the same university. After being discovered at a reception, she first became familiar with cameras by presenting the programme "Tarz-ı Hayat".
She made her screen debut in 2005 in the series "Çapkın" alongside Okan Yalabık, then appeared in Serdar Akar's film "Barda" (2007), Kartal Tibet's "Amerikalılar Karadeniz'de 2" (2006) and the series "Köprü". She took leading roles in Çağan Irmak's "Ulak" (2007) and "Issız Adam" (2008), winning the Sadri Alışık Best Actress Award for her performance as Ada in "Issız Adam".
Her later credits include "Adını Sen Koy" (2009), "Bu Kalp Seni Unutur mu?" (2009), "Deli Saraylı" (2010), the third season of "Leyla ile Mecnun", "Büyük Sürgün Kafkasya" (2014), "46 Yok Olan" (2016), "Sen Benim Herşeyimsin" (2016), "Söz" (2017) and the film "Hayat" (2023). She is married to fellow actor Aras Aydın.
