Lâle Yavaş — Biography

Lâle Yavaş was born in 1978 in the Swiss town of Brugg to a family of Turkish origin. She studied in the Music and Theatre Department of the Bern University Academy of Fine Arts before turning to acting, appearing in early productions such as "Alles wird gut" and "I Was a Swiss Banker."

She drew attention for her performance in the 2005 two-part ARD television film Zeit der Wünsche, work that earned her the Adolf Grimme Award. The following year she took a leading role opposite Peter Lohmeyer in Luxembourgish director Andy Bausch's Deepfrozen, and went on to appear in films including Son Tren, A Thousand Oceans, Evet, ich will! and Güzelliğin On Par'etmez. She also became known for playing forensic doctor Rhea Singh in the long-running German crime series Tatort.

With a filmography that extends to the 2025 production Late Shift, Yavaş has built an international career across Swiss, German, Luxembourgish, Austrian and Czech film and television productions.
