Kemal Başar — Biography

Born on October 25, 1963 in Ankara, Kemal Başar graduated from the Theatre Department of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 1989 and joined Turkish State Theatres the same year.

Over the following decades he served as artistic director of Ankara State Theatre and founded the International Affairs Office of Turkish State Theatres, becoming known as a curator of international theatre festivals and for the workshops and seminars he has held abroad, particularly in Romania and Poland.

Alongside his directing work he has also appeared on screen, taking roles in series such as Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, Kod Adı Kaos and Samyeli and in films including Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu and 72. Koğuş, and is recognized for his portrayal of Ender in the 2015 series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz.
