Kaan Taşaner — Biography
Kaan Taşaner was born on 23 April 1979 in Antalya. He trained at the State Conservatory Theatre Department of Selçuk University in Konya and began his career on stage, earning acclaim over two seasons for playing Andy Dufresne in Esaretin Bedeli, a Turkish stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption.
On television, he became widely known for playing Erdoğan Yaşaran in Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?, Commissioner Şeref in Kuzey Güney, and Kemal Özdemir in Kayıp, before reaching an even wider audience as Gündoğdu Bey in the historical series Diriliş: Ertuğrul. He also appeared as lawyer Erkan Sarpkaya in Şahin Tepesi and as the Roman soldier Markus in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu.
In recent years Taşaner has drawn more attention for his personal life than for new roles: his relationship with girlfriend Seray Dura, who is significantly younger than him, was widely covered in the 2026 press, though the couple have so far denied marriage rumors.
