Jean-Pierre Lorit — Biography

Born in Paris on 29 November 1960, Jean-Pierre Lorit works as a French film and television actor. He trained at the national drama conservatory in the city. He is best remembered for playing Auguste in Three Colors: Red, and has also appeared in Nelly and Mr. Arnaud, An Air So Pure, A Question of Taste, Tell No One, and They Call It Summer. In 2005 he took a stage role in an August Strindberg adaptation staged by Hélène Vincent, sharing the bill with Lambert Wilson and his own wife, Emmanuelle Devos, a performance for which he received a Molière award nomination the following year for best supporting actor. He has continued working steadily in French cinema in the years since.
