Hikmet Körmükçü — Biography

Hikmet Körmükçü is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress and voice-over artist, born on 13 June 1952 in the Heybeliada neighborhood of Istanbul. While studying at Üsküdar American Academy she drew early attention for impersonating well-known performers, and she went on to train at the Tepebaşı Theatre.

She began her stage career in 1972, appearing in day-wage productions at the city theatres, and from 1975 worked with several theatre troupes. Alongside her stage career, Körmükçü moved into film and television, becoming known for playing Aysel Güngör in the long-running series Bizimkiler; she later appeared in popular series such as Kiralık Aşk and Vuslat, and has also lent her voice to numerous dubbed productions.
