Gaye Turgut — Biography

Gaye Turgut Evin, born on 1 June 1987 in Istanbul, is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress. She graduated from the acting department of Beykent University's Faculty of Fine Arts with a double major in cinema and television.

She grew interested in performing during kindergarten through creative drama and dance activities, and later won a Ministry of National Education achievement award for the school play 'Bayrağımızın Gölgesinde' during the Republic's 75th-anniversary celebrations. She made her screen debut as a child in Sevgi Ana (2000) and went on to appear in productions such as Akasya Durağı, Türk Malı, Kanıt, 71. Koğuş, Yahşi Cazibe, Beni Affet, Yamak Ahmet and 72. Koğuş, becoming best known for playing Bahar in Beni Affet. She also played Lieutenant Çiğdem Ülgen in the 2017 series Savaşçı (Warrior), an experience she has described as one that changed her life.

Known for her social engagement, Turgut played the 'fairy of kindness' in 'Duvarların Dili,' a play staged with inmates of Ümraniye T-Type Prison, where she also teaches theatre. Married to actor Deniz Evin, she became a mother for the first time in 2021.
