Gaye Gürsel — Biography

Gaye Filiz Gürsel was born in İzmir in 1980; she graduated from the İstanbul University School of Business in 2002, then worked at an events company and spent time living abroad. On her return she trained as an actress at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center and made her screen debut in 2004 in the Kanal D series Haziran Gecesi, directed by Andaç Haznedaroğlu. She went on to appear in popular series including Asi, Elif, İşler Güçler and Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, and built a film career with titles such as Dersimiz Atatürk, Gelecek Uzun Sürer, Bu İşte Bir Yalnızlık Var, Meleklerin Mucizesi and Müthiş Bir Film. She reached a wider audience playing Esra in the series Arka Sokaklar, and in 2021 gained international exposure as a psychiatrist in the Netflix series 50m2. She married Jeff Treves, her partner of twenty years, in the summer of 2020.
