Edip Tepeli — Biography

Edip Tepeli was born on 18 April 1989 in İzmir. He graduated from the Theatre Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory and performed in plays at various venues, including the Istanbul City Theatres; his performance in Sırça Hayvan Koleksiyonu won him the Most Successful Young Generation Artist award at the 2015 Afife Theatre Awards.

He made his screen debut in 2014 in the series Kurt Seyit ve Şura, followed by roles in Seni Kimler Aldı, Yıldızlar Şahidim and Yaşamayanlar. In 2017 he played Üzeyir in the Kanal D series Hayati ve Diğerleri, and his recurring role as Kavruk Ömer in Sefirin Kızı in 2019 marked a turning point in his career.

He had his real breakthrough in 2021 playing Batuga opposite Ebru Şahin in Destan. In 2023 he played Mert in Gülcemal, and in 2025 he joined the cast of Sahipsizler. He married fellow actor Ayşecan Tatari in New York in 2017; the couple have a daughter, Müjgan, born in 2020, and announced the end of their marriage in March 2025.
