Caner Topçu — Biography

Born to a family originally from Kastamonu, Caner Topçu came into the world in Istanbul on 25 June 1997 and, after finishing his schooling there, trained in acting under Harun Özer and Fulya Filazi. He started out on stage, appearing in plays such as Beyaz Cehennem, Dikkat İnternet Var and Sarıkamış, before stepping in front of a camera for the first time in the 2015 film Bilinçsizler. His real move into television came with the 2019 series Nöbet, and he then reached a much larger audience through the role he played in Barbaros.

In 2022 he received the Best Breakthrough Actor award from the Association of Magazine Journalists. He continued his career in the series Dönence, and became even better known for the part he took on in Aynadaki Yabancı, which began in 2025; a widely covered stunt in which he plunged into icy water during the show's promotion added to the attention. He has continued to draw press coverage into 2026.
