Çağla Şimşek — Biography

Çağla Şimşek began acting as a small child and, now in her early twenties, is still working as a Turkish actress and model. Wide audiences first knew her as Zehra in Küçük Gelin, and in recent years she has returned to the spotlight as İpek in Uzak Şehir.

The daughter of a father from Samsun and a mother from Gümüşhane, she was three when, on her way to the doctor with her mother, she caught the eye of Osman Yağmurdereli, was invited to a set, and made her screen debut as Naz in Elveda Derken. She went on to Kırmızı Işık and Kayıp Prenses, and in 2010 to Cuma'ya Kalsa, which starred Haluk Bilginer. She played Lavin in Mahsun Kırmızıgül's Hayat Devam Ediyor (2011) and then Zehra in Küçük Gelin, the role that made her widely known and brought her recognition in the Arab world as well. After Elif (2014) she stepped away from the screen for about two years because of school and turned down many offers.

Having won a place at university, she came back in 2021 with Kardeşlerim and then joined the cast of Elkızı. On film she appeared in Ferhat ile Şirin: Ölümsüz Aşk (2019); on television she continued with Seni Kalbime Sakladım and Tozluyaka (2022, as Hazal). In 2026 she took part in the film İlk Gençlik alongside Rahimcan Kapkap.
