Birkan Sokullu — Biography
Birkan Sokullu was born on October 6, 1985, in Istanbul. While studying Radio and Television Programming at Maltepe University he played licensed basketball as a teenager, then stepped into modeling after finishing third at the Best Model of Turkey contest in 2003.
He made his television debut in Küçük Kadınlar and gained wider recognition in 2010 as Demir Karaman in Küçük Sırlar. In the years that followed he played Şehzade Mustafa in Fatih (2013), Petro in Kurt Seyit ve Şura (2014), Kerim Cevher in Hayat Şarkısı, and Cihangir in Yüz Yüze (2017).
2020 brought international recognition, with Sokullu playing Han Derenoğlu in Masumlar Apartmanı and the Genoese commander Giovanni Giustiniani in the Netflix series Rise of Empires: Ottoman. He went on to play Ali Tahir in Yüz Yıllık Mucize (2023) and Güney in the film Romantik Hırsız (2024), while also appearing in the TOD digital series Zamanın Kapıları. In 2026 he began filming the Netflix series Palas Pandıras, directed by Selman Nacar.
