Betül Kızılok Bavli — Biography

Betül Kızılok Bavli is an actress with stage roots: she laid the foundation of her career at the İstanbul Şehir Tiyatroları, while reaching a wide audience through television series. In the theatre she won the Bedia Muvahhit Award twice, in 2001 for Sabaha Az Kala and in 2004 for Medea. On screen she was seen for many years in the series Arka Sıradakiler and Arka Sokaklar.

Born in the Nazilli district of Aydın, Bavli graduated from the Theatre Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University in 1993 and began her professional work at Şehir Tiyatroları in 1995. Until 1999 she worked with Beklan Algan and Ayla Algan in the institution's Theatre Research Laboratory, and she also taught at the same institution. Her stage repertoire runs from children's plays to classics: Krala Oyun, Romeo ve Juliet, Lüküs Hayat, Çalıkuşu, Ben Sinema Artisti Olmak İstiyorum, Üç Kardeş ve Muhteşem Kurt and Ben Çağırmadım are among them.

She came to film and television in the mid-1990s with the film İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında and the series Baba Evi, followed by Kaçıklık Diploması and Örümcek. In 2004 she appeared in Avrupa Yakası, Büyük Buluşma and Kalp Gözü. She took roles in the seasons of Arka Sıradakiler from 2007 to 2011, in various seasons of Arka Sokaklar between 2014 and 2018, and in Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır.
