Beste Bereket — Biography

Beste Bereket is an actress who works in both cinema and television and has also presented film programmes. Her best-known award came for her supporting role in Beş Şehir: Best Supporting Actress at the 17th International Golden Boll Film Festival in 2010. More recently she has appeared in films such as Uçuş 811 (2022) and Seni Görüyorum (2023).

She had her first stage experience at twelve in the children's courses of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center and paused acting during her high-school years. After Fenerbahçe Süper Lisesi she was admitted to Istanbul University's physics department but did not attend, passing instead the theatre exam of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory and returning to acting. Her name became known on screen with Türev in 2005, a film that stayed in the news for a long time over a disputed award. 2 Süper Film Birden (2006) and Beş Şehir (2009) followed, and she worked on a foreign production in the German film 300 Worte Deutsch (2013).

On television she became known through Parmaklıklar Ardında and Leyla ile Mecnun; Doksanlar, Dayı: Bir Adamın Hikayesi and Babam Çok Değişti are also on her list. She presented Sinema+TR on MTV Türkiye in 2010 and Kaba Kurgu on TRT 1 in 2011, and founded a studio called KRAFT with Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı. She married Serdar Önal in 2015.
