Berhan Şimşek — Biography

Berhan Şimşek is a Turkish film and television actor born on 1 March 1957 in Bayburt. His family moved to Istanbul while he was a child, he began working at an early age, and he continued his schooling through night classes, later completing a business administration degree through the Open Education Faculty and studying law at Yeditepe University. He started out performing in photo-novels before making his film debut in 1977 with Sevgili Oğlum. Over the following decades he appeared in dozens of films and television series; among his best-known credits are the series Kuruluş, his role as Mehmet Ali Ağca in the film Uzlaşma, and the films Yolcu and Şarkıcı. Alongside acting, he later became active in politics.
