Açelya Özcan — Biography
Açelya Özcan was born on 28 June 1986 in Istanbul, the daughter of writer Nurhayat Özcan. She graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at Istanbul University; during her university years she appeared on stage as Helena in Shakespeare's "Midnight in Summer", as Alkmene in Haldun Dormen's "Amphitrion 2000" and as Nina in Chekhov's "Martı" (The Seagull). She later received basic acting training at the Şahika Tekand Theatre School.
She made her film debut with Kaybedenler Kulübü (2011). In 2012 she became known to television audiences as İnci in Aşkın Halleri and appeared on stage as Lucille in Molière's Kibarlık Budalası, staged by Haldun Dormen. Her later screen credits include the films Mahmut ile Meryem (2013), Ayhan Hanım, Dağ 2 (2016, as Nabat) and Çiçero (2019), and series such as Kiraz Mevsimi (as Gizem), Tutar mı Tutar, Acil Aşk Aranıyor and Eve Dönüş.
From 2019 she played Ayşe Hatun in the ATV historical drama Kuruluş Osman. Alongside acting, she is also involved in music.
