Yüksel Arıcı — Biography

Yüksel Arıcı is a stage-trained actor who has worked steadily on Turkish television for decades. He is best known as Pala in Kurtlar Vadisi, the role that brought him to a wide audience. Most recently he returned to the big screen in 2025 in Dayı: Bir Adamın Hikâyesi 2.

Born in Adana, Arıcı finished Adana Boys' High School and began his professional stage career at the Adana City Theatre in 1981. In 1987 he appeared before the camera in the film Karınca Katarı. Until 1991 he kept acting in private theatres in Adana, Ankara and Istanbul, and from the early 1990s he worked heavily in series and films. In that period he appeared in productions such as Sahte Dünyalar, Gölge Çiçeği, Kurtuluş, İlişkiler and Hesabım Bitmedi.

In the 2000s, besides Kurtlar Vadisi, he played Ahmet in Cennet Mahallesi, Mahmut in Saçsaça Başbaşa, Şahin in Hacı and Tufan in Sürgün Hayatlar, with Sıla and Güz Yangını also among his work of those years. Later he played Hasip Ağa in Kurt Kanunu and appeared in Uçurum and Kayıp. From 2015 to 2017 he played Vehbi in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz.

Their work through different eyes

Action & Thriller Fan Puts pace, tension and set pieces first; little patience for slow drama.

Anyone wanting to see Yüksel Arıcı in action work should begin with Pala in Kurtlar Vadisi and Vehbi in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz. Uçurum was an action-drama that ended quickly, and Büyük Şeytan Üçgeni is a political action-adventure film that also features Mark Dacascos and Eric Roberts.

Series Binger A series devotee tracking character arcs, cast chemistry and season pacing.

Pala in Kurtlar Vadisi and Vehbi in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz: the two productions through which Yüksel Arıcı reached a wide audience belong to the same crime world. In my view this casts the other sides of his work into shadow; lighter, humour-leaning parts such as Ahmet in Cennet Mahallesi or Ziya Baba in Hep Yek are far less visible.
