Zidan Sertdemir — Biography
Batuhan Zidan Sertdemir is a Danish-born midfielder who became known for setting a record in the Bundesliga at the age of 16 with Bayer Leverkusen. The 1.82 m player has been with German side SC Preußen Münster since 31 August 2025.
Born in Ishøj, Sertdemir came up in Brøndby's youth system and moved to the Nordsjælland academy at 12. He signed for Leverkusen on 15 June 2021 on a three-year contract. On 7 November 2021, in a 1-1 draw with Hertha, he made his Bundesliga debut at 16 years and 276 days: in that same match he overtook his teammate Iker Bravo to become Leverkusen's youngest Bundesliga player, and only Youssoufa Moukoko had debuted in the league at a younger age. He is also described as the youngest foreign player to appear in the Bundesliga since its founding. Without a regular place in the first team, he returned to Nordsjælland permanently on 31 January 2023, and went back to Germany in 2025.
In 2022 he was named in The Guardian's list of the 60 best young talents in world football, and Goal.com listed him with Arda Güler among the most valuable players born in 2005. He has played for Denmark's youth national teams since 2020, including the under-16s and under-17s, and in October 2021 it was announced that he had chosen Denmark over Turkey.
