Zeynep Tokuş — Biography

Zeynep Tokuş was born in 1977 in Ankara. She studied graphic design at Bilkent University and, before turning to acting, worked as a DJ on Capital Radio, winning the 1998 Star beauty pageant. Her acting career began that same year, and she became widely known as Zeynep in the series Deli Yürek; her role as Sinem in Yazgı (2001) won her Best Actress at the Ankara International Film Festival.

Her film credits also include Vizontele (as Asiye), Vizontele Tuuba, Beyaz Melek (2007), Umut (2009), where she also worked as costume designer, and Aşkın Kıyameti (2022). On television she appeared in Hırçın Menekşe, Esir Şehrin İnsanları, Bedel, Kardelen and Ayrılık, and stood in for Pınar Altuğ as Meltem in Çocuklar Duymasın for a time. In 2007 she won the Turkish version of the celebrity ice-skating contest Dancing on Ice. She later stepped away from acting to become a yoga instructor; Tokuş has three children from three marriages and keeps her private life largely out of the press.
