Zeynep Dizdar — Biography

Born on 14 July 1976 in Kadıköy, Zeynep Dizdar is a Turkish pop artist who writes and composes most of her own material. She entered the music scene in 1997 with the album Yolun Açık Ola; its track "Vazgeç Gönül" climbed the charts of the era, the video for "Nerede Olursan Ol" counted among Turkey's earliest electronic-music productions, and "Bir Hayvanın Günlüğünden" stood out as a song devoted to animals.

After a long gap she returned in 2005 with her second record, İlle de Sen, produced by Ozan Çolakoğlu, led by the single "Zehir Gibi"; both that song and "Yok Yok" were written and composed by her. She went on to release the album Sana Güvenmiyorum in 2008, the single "Aşkın Büyüsü" in 2009, and the thirteen-track Hayat Benim Elimde in 2010 — on which she recorded her first cover, "Bir Çocuk Sevdim," penned by Sezen Aksu and Onno Tunç — followed by the album Viraj and the single "2012" in 2011, with a video for her own composition "Venüs" filmed on a theatre stage in Bakırköy. She has remained active on stage through the 2020s, introducing the track "Afrodizyak" in 2026 and taking the stage at festivals in cities ranging from Adana to Kayseri.
