Zerrin Egeliler — Biography

Zerrin Egeliler (born Hatice Özügül) is known as one of the best-known and best-paid performers of the erotic film boom that spread across Turkey in the late 1970s. Throughout her career she worked only in soft-erotic productions and always turned down offers of hardcore material. She is also remembered for appearing in 35 films in the single year 1979, which put her in the Guinness Book of Records.

She first appeared before the camera in 1977 in Dila Hatun, her looks having drawn producers' attention. The following year she took a supporting part as Şükran in Halit Refiğ's Yaşam Kavgası and was seen in films such as Cafer'in Çilesi. Her filmography runs to more than seventy credits. The real surge came in 1979, when she worked in dozens of productions at once; Çıldırtan Kadın, Kadersizler, Acemi Dolandırıcılar, Ateşli Dilber, Minnoş and Yedi Kocalı belong to that prolific stretch. The pace did not last: after her final film in 1981 she did not appear before the camera again.

After leaving cinema, Egeliler gradually withdrew from public attention. Sources give her birth year and place differently, so those details are not certain.
