Zafer Tüzün — Biography

Zafer Tüzün was born on 30 August 1962 in Eskişehir. He played as a striker and is best remembered for his years with his hometown club Eskişehirspor. His form there earned him a move to Fenerbahçe. In the 1986-87 season, on 1 February 1987, he scored all four penalties he took in a 4-1 league win over his former club Eskişehirspor, and he still holds the record for penalties scored in a single match. With Fenerbahçe he won the TSYD Cup in 1985-86 and 1986-87.

After Fenerbahçe he played for Adana Demirspor, Sakaryaspor, Bakırköyspor and Kayserispor, returned to Eskişehirspor, and finished his career at Denizlispor and Diyarbakırspor. He wore the national shirt 13 times in total: 9 times for the Turkey under-18 side, twice for the under-21 side and twice for the senior national team. He is one of the few players to have joined the 100'ler kulübü.

After his playing days he was appointed Eskişehirspor's manager in the summer transfer window of 2000-01 and held the post until March 2001. On 17 June 2011 he began working at the club as a technical adviser; the role ended after the general assembly of June 2013, when Mesut Hoşcan became president. He later served as the club's president himself. He has since become a sports pundit, discussing the Süper Lig, especially Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, on A Spor programmes.
