Yusuf Şimşek — Biography

Born on July 20, 1975 in Antalya, Yusuf Şimşek is a former Turkish international footballer who spent his playing career as an attacking midfielder. Standing 1.88 meters tall, he turned out for clubs including Bursaspor, Denizlispor, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe, and is remembered above all for his long spell at Denizlispor, where he made more than 200 league appearances and became one of the club's most recognizable figures.

After retiring as a player, Şimşek moved into coaching and has since managed several lower-division sides, most notably TFF 2. Lig club Altınordu, a role that kept him regularly in the Turkish sports press.
