Yusuf Özdemir — Biography

Yusuf Özdemir (born 10 January 2001 in Bahçelievler, Istanbul) is a Turkish footballer. He plays as a left-back and midfielder and has been under contract with Alanyaspor since 2020.

In December 2025 Turkish sports media widely reported that he had been detained and then remanded as part of an illegal betting investigation, with reports citing an allegation that he had placed a betting slip on a match involving his own team. The proceedings ended with a nine-month suspension for the player.

He completed that ban in July 2026 and became eligible to play for Alanyaspor again, a return the local press described as the end of a nine-month absence.
