Yunus Murat Ceylan — Biography
Yunus Murat Ceylan is a right-back who started at Nişantaşıspor, played for clubs such as Beşiktaş, Manisaspor, Diyarbakırspor, Adanaspor and Çaykur Rizespor, and then moved into coaching. After playing, Ceylan worked in the Beşiktaş academy and in 2020 took charge of Adanaspor for his first senior-team job; he is known as assistant coach of Beşiktaş's Under-19 team.
Ceylan began in the Nişantaşıspor academy, signed a professional contract in 1998 and played regularly for two seasons. He moved to Beşiktaş for 2000-01; after the pre-season camp he was not judged ready for the first team and spent two seasons on loan at Darıca Gençlerbirliği. When his contract ended he joined Manisaspor from 2002-03, and on 7 August 2005 he played in a Süper Lig match that finished level with Ankaragücü. He then played for Diyarbakırspor and Adanaspor, for Çaykur Rizespor from the mid-season window of 2009-10, moved to İstanbul Güngörenspor in the 2011-12 winter break and retired at Dikilitaş in 2015-16.
After retiring he started at Beşiktaş as Under-17 assistant coach and a year later led the Under-19 team for five matches. On 22 September 2020, after Fatih Akyel left, he was appointed manager of First League club Adanaspor, and the two parted ways on 26 January 2021. In 2021-22, when Önder Karaveli temporarily took over the Beşiktaş first team, he returned to the Under-19 side. After the team won the cup in May 2024, he said it was their reaction that had brought it.
