Yonca Lodi — Biography
Born Cavidan Yonca Akçakoca on 17 September 1974 in Istanbul, the singer known as Yonca Lodi spent most of her childhood in the Beşiktaş district. In high school she played in the school orchestra, enrolled at the Çağdaş Music Center, and took voice lessons from soloists of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet; she placed first in a 1992 talent exam and went on to study at the opera-voice department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory.
She began performing professionally with a band in 1993, signed with Sony Music in 1996, and released her self-titled debut album in 1999. Her second album in 2001 included a reinterpretation of a Sezen Aksu song, and she went on to release Yolumu Bulurum, Milat, 12 Ay and Fazla Aşk, establishing herself as one of the long-running names in Turkish pop.
In 2026 she returned to public attention with "İncir Ağacı," a track recorded together with musician Murat Güneş, and later shared an emotional post after her son graduated from university that same year.
