Yiğit Gökoğlan — Biography

Yiğit İsmail Gökoğlan is a winger who came through the Manisaspor youth system, joined Galatasaray for a 2.5 million euro fee and was part of the side that won the 2011-12 Süper Lig. Today he plays in İzmir's amateur leagues for Koyundere Gençlikspor in Menemen.

Originally a forward, Gökoğlan moved out to the wing at Manisaspor; he joined that club's youth system in 2006 and began training with the senior squad at 16. On 2 September 2007 he made his Süper Lig debut against Galatasaray, and in that season's winter break he was loaned to the TFF Third League side Altınordu, helping them win promotion through the play-offs. On 12 January 2012 he moved to Galatasaray on a four-and-a-half-year deal; on 25 January 2012 he made his debut and scored his first league goal in a 4-0 home win over Ankaragücü. He was in the squad that won the Süper Lig and the 2012 Super Cup.

When Galatasaray did not include him in their plans he was loaned to Orduspor and then to Kayseri Erciyesspor, making 12 league appearances for Orduspor. In January 2015 he left Galatasaray by mutual agreement and went on to play for Akhisar Belediyespor, Balıkesirspor and Bandırmaspor in turn; in later years he wore the shirts of Zonguldak Kömürspor and Bergama FK. In January 2023 he moved to Çeşme Belediyespor in the Regional Amateur League, and in August 2025 to Koyundere Gençlikspor. He represented Turkey at U-19, U-20 and U-21 level and with the A2 national team.
