Wikidata and DBpedia record his birthplace as Şişli, and the Russian Wikipedia article hedges between the two by writing "Istanbul or Şişli". There is no real conflict here: Şişli is a district of Istanbul.

He has featured in the defence of Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe. The short Turkish Wikipedia entry describes his position only in general terms as a defender, while the English, French and Russian articles agree more precisely on centre-back, which is the reading the majority of sources support.
