Yasemin Yalçın — Biography

Yasemin Yalçın (born 3 August 1964 in Istanbul) is a Turkish theatre and film actress and comedian. Born to a family from the Pütürge district of Malatya, she graduated from high school in 1982 and began her training at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Conservatory the same year.

Known for her comedy characters on stage, she reached a wide audience with creations such as "Sürahi Nine" and won the Golden Butterfly Award for "Best Female Comedy Actress" four times. On screen she appeared in the film Vezir Parmağı (2017) and the series Mihrap Yerinde (2014). She also performed the song "Taht Kurmuşsun Kalbime" on Suzan Kardeş's album "Makyaj Odası Şarkıları".

Yalçın is married to actor and comedian İlyas İlbey; the couple became known together for the characters "İtilmiş ile Kakılmış". After learning that her daughter had diabetes, she took a break from the theatre for a time.
