Yağmur Uraz — Biography

Yağmur Uraz is the top scorer in the history of the Turkey women's national team, with 28 goals in 67 matches, and she retired from international football with an announcement on 11 June 2024. On 15 February 2025 she scored her 300th career goal against Trabzonspor, the first Turkish woman to reach that figure. A forward who plays for Fenerbahçe, she won the tenth league title of her career with the club in May 2026.

She started in football on 4 March 2003 by taking out a licence with the Gazi Üniversitesi club in Ankara, moved up to the first team in 2008-09 and was league champion in 2009-10. In 2010-11 she joined Ataşehir Belediyespor, won two titles there and played her first Champions League match in August 2011. In January 2014 she transferred to Konak Belediyespor and took part in the 2013-14 title, played for Kireçburnu Spor in 2015-16, returned to Ataşehir and was champion again in 2017-18. She played for ALG Spor in 2018-19 and for Beşiktaş from 2019-20, winning the 2020-21 title with them. On 10 August 2022 she moved to Galatasaray and finished 2022-23 as the league's top scorer with 23 goals in 17 matches. On 21 July 2023 she signed for Fenerbahçe.

For the national team she scored twice against Georgia in 2009 Euro qualifying, twice in each of two matches against Malta in 2011 World Cup qualifying, and the side's only goal against Switzerland in 2013 qualifying. Alongside football she worked as a physical education teacher at Mediha Tansel Middle School.
