Vsevolod Sanayev — Biography

Soviet stage and film actor and acting teacher Vsevolod Vasilyevich Sanayev was born on 25 February 1912 in Tula, and found particular popularity through the 1960s and 1970s. He performed at the Moscow Art Theatre and later the Mossovet Theatre.

The state named him a People's Artist of the USSR in 1969; his decorations also included the Order of Lenin, alongside a separate honour marking the October Revolution. Sanayev died in Moscow on 27 January 1996; his daughter Elena Sanayeva also became an actress.
