Volkan Ünlü — Biography

Volkan Ünlü (born 8 July 1983 in Gelsenkirchen) is a Turkish former professional footballer who spent his playing career as a goalkeeper. He was born in the Ruhr city of Gelsenkirchen at a time when it lay within West Germany, and is recorded as a citizen of Turkey.

After retiring as a player he moved into coaching rather than leaving the game behind. He works as a goalkeeping coach within the youth setup of Schalke 04, the long-established club of his home city, where he is part of the staff responsible for developing the next generation of keepers.
