Volkan Ekici — Biography

Volkan Ekici was born on 23 March 1991 in Lünen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Holding dual Turkish-German citizenship, he built his career as a midfielder.

Ekici started out in Beşiktaş's youth setup before moving on to spells with Fortuna Düsseldorf and Göztepe in Turkey. Later in his career he returned to Germany, turning out for Hammer SpVg and subsequently for Lüner SV in the Landesliga 3 Westfalen.

Throughout his career, Ekici became known as one of the footballers who bridged Turkish and German amateur and semi-professional football, splitting his playing time between clubs in both countries.
