Volkan Dikmen — Biography
Volkan Dikmen is a Turkish-German footballer, born in Berlin and raised in Hertha BSC's youth system, who played for Turkey's youth national teams and in the Süper Lig with Kayserispor and Kardemir Karabükspor. In later years he also played for Amed and CFC Hertha 06.
He started out in the youth system of BSC Rehberge Berlin and then played in those of SV Nord Wedding and Hertha BSC. While at Hertha he was called up to Turkey's youth teams and soon became a regular in them, which drew the attention of many Süper Lig clubs. He moved up to Hertha's second team in 2009. Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe followed him closely, but in January 2010, at the request of Tolunay Kafkas, he signed an 18-month contract with Kayserispor; brought in to replace Ali Turan, he was seen as a new discovery. He made his professional debut on 14 March 2010 as a second-half substitute against Eskişehirspor.
Dikmen had trouble settling at Kayserispor, and his contract was terminated by mutual consent in the 2010-11 winter window. After half a season without a club he joined the Süper Lig side Kardemir Karabükspor at the start of 2011-12, and in the 2013 winter window he moved to TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor.
