Vedat Muriqi — Biography

Vedat Muriqi (also rendered Vedat Muriç in Turkey; born 24 April 1994 in Prizren) is a footballer who plays as a centre-forward. Prizren lay in Yugoslavia at the time of his birth and is today in Kosovo. The overwhelming majority of sources describe him as Kosovar, so Wikidata's additional Albanian and Turkish citizenship entries are best read as secondary to that consensus. At 1.94 m he is built around aerial play.

He began at Liria in his home city of Prizren, then moved to Albania for spells with Teuta Durrës and Besa Kavajë. After crossing to Turkey he made his name as a scorer at Giresunspor, Gençlerbirliği and Çaykur Rizespor, joining Fenerbahçe in 2019. A transfer to Lazio followed in 2020, and after a loan he signed permanently for Mallorca in 2022.

At youth level he was first in the Kosovo set-up, played twice in friendlies for Albania's under-21 side, and then returned to the Kosovo senior team, where he became his country's all-time leading goalscorer. In July 2026 he signed for Fenerbahçe again and was presented alongside Mason Greenwood and Nathan Aké, though an injury picked up in pre-season kept him out of some early fixtures.
