Valentin Pastal — Biography

Valentin Pastal was born on 9 June 1984 in Ashgabat. He began his professional career with Konyaspor in 2002 and, while generally deployed as a small forward, was versatile enough to also play power forward, a quality that at times drew comparisons to Turkish national-team star Hedo Türkoğlu.

A dual citizen of Turkey and Turkmenistan, Pastal represented seven different clubs over the course of his Turkish Basketball League career, including Efes Pilsen, Pınar Karşıyaka, Antalyaspor, Antalya Belediyespor and Best Balıkesir. He also wore the jersey of the Turkey national basketball team, with the bulk of his international appearances coming in 2004 and 2005.
