Umut Nayır — Biography

Mehmet Umut Nayır (born 28 June 1993 in Kocasinan, Kayseri) is a Turkish international footballer who plays as a forward. He began his professional career at Ankaragücü in 2012, and after the club's relegation to the second tier he scored 19 goals in 29 league games the following season to help it reach the promotion play-offs.

After a 2015 move to Osmanlıspor, he was loaned successively to Yeni Malatyaspor, Göztepe and Ankaragücü, winning promotion to the Süper Lig in his second spell there. In 2018 he transferred to Beşiktaş for a fee of 250,000 euros, spent a season on loan at Bursaspor, then made his first UEFA Europa League and Champions League qualifying appearances before a 2020 loan to Croatia's Hajduk Split. After spells at Giresunspor and Ümraniyespor, where 17 goals in 31 league games made him the top-scoring Turkish player in the competition, he earned a move to Fenerbahçe. He was loaned to Pendikspor in January 2024 and transferred to Konyaspor for 400,000 euros that July.

Nayır joined Trabzonspor in January 2026 and continues to play for the club in the Süper Lig. At international level, he represented Turkey at the 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games and was called up to the senior national team in March 2023, appearing in European Championship qualifying matches.
